South Park Real Estate

South Park is a community located in the South Charlotte real estate area – just minutes away from the uptown area. Its name derived from the SouthPark Mall which was opened at the beginning of 1970. The area is centered at the intersection of Fairview Road and Sharon Road that encompasses residential and one of the largest business districts in Charlotte which employs approximately 40,000 people.

The South Park area was originally a 3,000 acre farm owned by Cameron Morrison – a former governor of North Carolina. Many of this area’s neighborhoods are older – developed in the 70’s and 80’s and are larger properties with mature trees. SouthPark is known for its shopping, dining out, golf, and country club amenities. Most of these stately homes range anywhere from $400,000 to multi million dollar estates.
